Benham Electric, an electrical contractor, is a small company in northern Minnesota. A very successful local business lead to long hours with little time for office work. They requested a system that would keep the office staff small by automating many ordering, scheduling and invoicing tasks.
Benham needed a tool that was user-friendly to personnel who were not computer savvy. They wanted to manage multiple ongoing jobs, the constantly changing pricing for supplies used in the jobs, and the invoicing for the completed work. Their customized FileMaker Pro database system allowed them to maintain a one-person office, while relieving the owner to more effectively manage employees and jobs.
